Welcome to Food Services!

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

National School Breakfast & Lunch Programs-

Breakfast ImageOur district participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)and School Breakfast Program(SBP). The NSLP/SBP is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. The program is designed to promote the health and well-being of children by providing nutritious meals to children. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.

To fulfill the nutritional requirements set by the NSLP/SBP, and to please the students in our district, our department strives to offer a variety of fun and appealing breakfast and lunches. The 2014-2015 school year marked the implementation of several new nutrition based guidelines for all schools, nationwide, participating in the NSLP/SBP. The new changes ensure that the meals being served meet calorie ranges for each age group, offer a variety of colorful fruit and vegetable choices, and contain appropriate levels of carbohydrates and protein for the average student (depending on grade level). For more information on the change in menu requirements, please review the "Meal Pattern Information" link here.

We look forward to serving the students in our district this school year! Please email or call with any questions we may be able to help answer.

Special Dietary Accommodations

Special Diet

USDA Child Nutrition Programs support access to healthy meals to all children, including children with disabilities who have special dietary needs.  Under the law, a disability is an impairment, which substantially limits a major life activity.  This can include allergies and digestive conditions but does not include personal diet preferences.
